About The Position

The Data Office is on an exciting journey to enhance the quality, control, and accessibility of business data so leaders across Corporate Functions and Non-Financial Risk can make timely, well-informed decisions. We seek a candidate with deep business domain expertise and a strong understanding of how information is consumed, and reported within corporate functions (e.g., HR/Legal/Audit) and non-financial risk (e.g., operational risk, compliance risk, model risk, technology risk). This role will help improve the clarity, quality, ownership, and governance of critical business data that supports risk reporting and strategic decision-making. This is not a technical or analytics role. The selected candidate will act as a business subject matter expert while partnering with stakeholders across Corporate Functions and Non-Financial Risk disciplines to improve the transparency, quality, and control environment surrounding business data. This role is expected to act as the manager for a small team (5-10 individuals).

Requirements

7+ years of experience analyzing or managing data within corporate functions (e.g., HR/Legal/Audit) or non-financial risk (e.g., operational risk, compliance risk, model risk, technology risk).
Strong understanding of business processes, governance, controls, reporting, and operational management practices.
Ability to explain complex business, risk, or control concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong collaboration, influence, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting enterprise governance, risk, compliance, audit, HR, legal, technology governance, or operational management activities.
Demonstrated ability to work across multiple business functions and influence change without direct authority.
Experience leading teams, programs, or significant cross-functional initiatives.
Passion for improving how business information is managed and utilized to support decision-making.
No prior data governance experience required; domain expertise and business process knowledge are more important.

Responsibilities

Improve transparency into how business information is defined, sourced, governed, controlled, and consumed across the organization.
Partner with business leaders to establish clear accountability for critical data and reporting assets.
Help prioritize and resolve data quality incidents impacting business operations or management decision-making.
Identify process gaps, manual workarounds, fragmented ownership models, and inconsistent business practices that contribute to data quality issues.
Support data quality monitoring, issue management, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts.
Drive adoption of enterprise data governance standards and best practices.
Lead and develop a team, providing performance coaching and ensuring consistent execution of data governance activities.
