About The Position

The VP, Consumer Loan Portfolio Manager is responsible for servicing oversight of all the Mortgage subservicers. This position performs a variety of oversight activities including, but not limited to; reporting, delinquency review, research, analysis of agency mandated timelines (i.e FNMA) and MERS reconciliation. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7+ years of residential loan servicing/training within the financial services industry.
  • Broad understanding of residential, consumer and commercial loan process, documentation and servicing.
  • Intermediate level of work experience, knowledge and training in residential loan servicing activities and terminology.
  • Effective organizational, time management and strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies governing lending including but not limited to fair lending, privacy, RESPA as well as company operational policies and procedures, and the company’s products and services.
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with a track record of communicating with users at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Intermediate math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management.
  • Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed.
  • Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Manages relationships with all subservicers, including resolving loan level issues, utilizing expertise and judgement to resolve expeditiously while maintaining a high degree of courtesy and professionalism with counterparties.
  • Manages onboarding new loan purchases to subservicers.
  • Creates and maintains an open item report for all subservicers with follow dates, expected resolution dates, etc.
  • Responsible for requesting quarterly credit score reporting from all subservicers, review of declining scores, scores not reported and reporting to internal staff.
  • Responsible for MERS, including monthly reconciliation for all subservicers, TOB/TOS requests and annual audit.
  • Responsible for review and ordering of valuations for defaulted loans and reporting values to accounting on a quarterly basis.
  • Researches, understands, and reviews taxes, insurance and escrow activity involving mortgage loans and documentation.
  • Cross-trained in multiple functional areas within the department in order to provide support wherever and whenever needed in a dynamic, energetic and demanding environment.
  • Responsible for subservicer oversight efforts involving mortgage operations and servicing related tasks. Gathers portfolio oversight data to provide a recap of performance results. Provides support for other areas of subserving oversight as needed.

  • Works with management to facilitate a smooth and timely response to all audit requests as assigned.
