About The Position

Replit is seeking a Director or VP of Communications to lead its storytelling, reputation building, and market awareness efforts. This senior role is for a creative, strategic, and hands-on leader who can help build and scale the communications function as Replit grows into a defining company in AI, software creation, and enterprise transformation. The individual will own Replit’s external and internal communications strategy, encompassing company narrative, media relations, analyst relations, executive communications, internal communications, crisis communications, customer storytelling, policy-related communications, and global awareness. The role requires someone who can cut through the noise and ensure the Replit story is consistently heard and part of the broader narrative. This involves developing a compelling narrative that evolves with the company, product, and market, and delivering it to diverse audiences including media, policymakers, partners, customers, and employees. The role will also support Replit’s international awareness, with a focus on key markets in Europe and Asia. The ideal candidate must be both strategic and execution-oriented, with experience building a comms function at a fast-growing tech company or serving as the second-in-command at one. This is not a traditional press office role; it requires creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to build upon existing foundations to establish Replit as a unique player that can punch above its weight in a competitive marketplace.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in communications, PR, media, corporate affairs, or related fields for Director level; 15+ years for VP level.
  • Experience building, scaling, or significantly expanding a communications function at a fast-growing technology company.

  • Experience across several communications disciplines, including external communications, internal communications, media relations, executive communications, crisis communications, and strategic messaging.
  • Ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear, compelling stories without losing substance.
  • Cross-functional leadership experience, with the ability to influence and collaborate across product, engineering, sales, marketing, legal, policy, finance, and people teams.
  • Ability to see the big picture while operating in execution mode.
  • Passionate about their craft and the impact they can have
