About The Position

CENTRA CREDIT UNION is seeking a Vice President (VP) Commercial Relationship Manager for its Washington St. location in Columbus, Indiana. This role is responsible for managing and operating various functions within the Business Services/Commercial designated region. The position involves managing a significant portfolio, driving growth in commercial loans, deposits, and treasury management products and services, and overseeing Centra’s Member Business Lending (MBL) policies and procedures. The VP Commercial Relationship Manager will also be responsible for active community engagement through local board and committee membership, as well as community events and outreach. This role contributes to achieving Centra’s stated strategic objectives and business plan goals by leading the Business Services team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Related Field
• A minimum of five years up to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience

Responsibilities

• Maintains and builds relationships with businesses, community leaders, and Centra Team Members through active participation in business development activities, striving for best-in-class Member Experience to facilitate retention and growth.
• Screens and interviews applicants to determine financial needs and creditworthiness.
• Analyzes information received at interview and develops appropriate structure and terms to obtain approval or denies credit request within approved lending limits.
• Prepares credit approval memos for presentation to appropriate approving authority, working in conjunction with Portfolio Manager and/or Credit Analyst.
• Develops and manages a significant (varies in size) commercial loan portfolio and reviews a collection of financial reports through Member communication and compliance.
• Maintains an active role in various committees and projects as assigned.
• Recommends new products and services to promote growth of the department and the Credit Union, working collaboratively with other Centra Line of business leaders and producers.
• Participates in community relations and activities to increase the Credit Union’s visibility, involvement, and impact.
