About The Position

Synergy Comp is seeking an experienced, people-centered leader to serve as VP, Chief Safety Officer. This executive role leads the SOS Safety Team and plays a critical role in maintaining high performance, partnering with Claims and Underwriting, and advancing Synergy Comp’s strategic priorities. The VP, Chief Safety Officer (CSO) is a senior executive leader responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of Synergy Comp’s SOS Safety Team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and is accountable for maintaining high performance, strengthening service execution, and aligning safety strategy with Synergy Comp’s strategic plan, strategic pillars, and The Synergy Way Guiding Principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Risk Management, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive safety leadership experience, preferably within workers’ compensation, insurance, or consulting
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing professional teams
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align safety strategy to growth, retention, and profitability
  • Strong executive communication skills and commitment to The Synergy Way Guiding Principles

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Preferred certifications: CSP, ARM, CAWC, CSHM, OSHA 501/500
