About The Position

Matter Health is seeking a strategic and execution-focused VP, Business Operations & Implementation to help lead the next chapter of our growth. This role serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for translating strategy into execution across the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will oversee new market launches, implementation efforts, operational readiness, cross-functional project management, and the business operations infrastructure that supports Matter Health's continued expansion. As Matter enters new markets and launches new payer partnerships, this individual will ensure every aspect of implementation is coordinated, aligned, and executed successfully—from contract execution and operational planning to staffing, training, launch readiness, and first patient engagement. Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare operations, implementation, managed care, value-based care, or payer operations experience
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience leading cross-functional teams and organizational initiatives
  • Experience within Value-Based Care, Medicare Advantage, D-SNP, payer operations, managed care, or healthcare services organizations
  • Proven success leading complex implementations, market launches, or large-scale operational initiatives
  • Strong project management and organizational leadership capabilities
  • Experience building processes, systems, and operational infrastructure in growing organizations
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability across teams without relying solely on positional authority
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, payer partners, and external stakeholders
  • Financial and operational acumen, including experience working with budgets, business cases, and performance metrics
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and growth-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational implementation and launch readiness for new markets, payer partnerships, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Translate payer contracts into actionable operational requirements, workflows, timelines, and readiness plans
  • Build and continuously improve Matter Health's Market Launch Playbook and implementation operating model
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across Operations, Clinical, Growth, HR, Compliance, Finance, and Technology teams
  • Own implementation project plans, milestones, dependencies, risk tracking, and executive status reporting
  • Establish and maintain go-live readiness standards and launch decision frameworks
  • Partner with leadership teams to ensure staffing, credentialing, training, and operational readiness requirements are achieved
  • Build scalable systems, processes, and operating cadences that support organizational growth
  • Serve as a key operational advisor to executive leadership on implementation strategy, market expansion, and business operations
  • Lead vendor relationships, operational partnerships, and business continuity initiatives
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement scalable solutions across the organization
  • Build and develop the Business Operations & Implementation function as Matter Health continues to grow
  • Partner closely with Finance on operational planning, budgeting, unit economics, and expansion strategies
