About The Position

We are looking for a senior commercial leader to own the ground-up build of two connected practices—Contract Staffing and Perm Placement—at a proven recruiting firm. This role offers the opportunity to build and scale these practices, with the founder who values your contribution and has structured the role to include minority ownership in the practices you build. The majority of your upside is earned, not promised. This is a practice-building leadership role where you will own the commercial funnel, including lead generation, qualification, proposal, closing, onboarding, expansion, and renewal. You will partner directly with the founder and controller on pipeline strategy, client diversification, recruiter capacity planning, pricing discipline, and the unit economics of every deal.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in staffing, RPO, or talent solutions, including 5+ years in a P&L leadership role.
  • Proven experience building or scaling contract staffing and perm placement practices.
  • Ability to engage with C-suite buyers.
  • Understanding of bill-rate/pay-rate economics, gross margin discipline, and recruiter productivity standards.
  • Operates like an owner, walks away from bad deals, replies on time, closes loops, and measures self hard against results.
  • Succeeds by closing deals and building teams, not by corporate politics.
  • Comfortable being measured—and measuring others—against clear targets.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in skilled trades, IT, Manufacturing, Healthcare, or adjacent verticals.
  • Experience positioning for both speed and margin in competitive, fast-moving markets.

Responsibilities

  • Stand up and scale a brand-new Contract Staffing practice from the ground up, defining market segments, establishing pricing discipline, contract terms, MSA templates, and credit standards. Hire and onboard the first dedicated contract staffing recruiter and scale the team.
  • Build a direct-hire Perm Placement engine and embed it into existing client relationships, establishing placement guarantees, replacement terms, and fee structures.
  • Own the full commercial funnel across all channels, including outbound, referrals, partner ecosystems, conventions, sponsorships, drip campaigns, and brand-building activities.
  • Represent Hunter Recruitment Advisors at the executive level, deepen positioning in key communities, and build thought leadership aligned to measurable growth.
