About The Position

The Vice President, Business Development & Innovation is a senior leadership role responsible for driving Symcor’s long-term strategic growth through enterprise innovation and the expansion of professional services. This role focuses on identifying, validating, and incubating transformational opportunities while fostering a culture of innovation that supports future readiness and sustained competitiveness. This position partners closely with senior leaders across the organization to shape new growth horizons, lead internal innovation initiatives, and advance Symcor’s strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, business development, innovation, product, or technology environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience identifying, evaluating, and executing new growth opportunities, business models, or transformational initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Deep understanding of innovation methodologies and enterprise innovation practices.
  • Business development expertise, including market analysis, opportunity assessment, and partnership development.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Strong program and initiative leadership skills with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, including executive-level presentations and thought leadership.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, digital trends, and evolving innovation ecosystems.
  • Ability to lead change, inspire teams, and foster a culture of experimentation and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, validation, and incubation of Horizon 3 growth opportunities that align with Symcor’s long-term strategic vision.
  • Conduct ongoing market scans and trend analysis to identify disruptive technologies, emerging business models, and new revenue opportunities.
  • Develop and present compelling, data-driven business cases to executive leadership to secure investment, sponsorship, and enterprise alignment.
  • Oversee Symcor’s enterprise-wide internal innovation program, driving employee engagement, experimentation, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Coach and support cross-functional innovation teams throughout the lifecycle of ideation, testing, and validation.
  • Establish success metrics and track the cultural, financial, and strategic impact of innovation initiatives across the organization.
  • Expand and evolve Symcor’s professional services portfolio by identifying new service opportunities based on market needs and client demand.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, and Delivery teams to design, launch, and continuously refine professional service offerings.
  • Build and lead cross-functional teams to pilot and test bold, future-oriented concepts through minimum viable products and controlled experiments.
  • Assess initiative performance using market feedback, operational readiness, and strategic fit, refining direction as needed.
  • Prepare validated initiatives for transition to the Product organization with clear scaling plans, documentation, and handoff processes.
  • Provide strategic advice, insights, and recommendations to senior executives on innovation, growth opportunities, and enterprise transformation.
  • Represent Symcor externally with clients, partners, vendors, and at industry events and innovation forums.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, experimentation, and future-readiness across Symcor through leadership engagement and internal advocacy.
