About The Position

NFP, an Aon Company, is seeking a VP, Broker to join their Financial Lines and Management Liability team for the US. This role is responsible for broking new and renewal business, managing all aspects of placements from market selection to policy delivery. The VP, Broker will focus on the largest and most complex placements, mentor and develop staff, and cultivate strong relationships with insurers, clients, and brokers. Requirements

Excellent leadership and portfolio management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Sound understanding of broker operating fundamentals and financials
Excellent organizational skills with ability to adjust to changing workload, work complexity and priorities
Ability to work collaboratively as a key team member and coach to junior team members
Strong attention to detail with strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
Proven technical competency and creativity demonstrating excellence in creating and delivering innovative property and casualty solutions
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum seven years insurance experience
P&C License required or obtained within 90 days of employment

Advanced industry designation(s) (e.g. CPCU, CIC, ARM) preferred

Responsibilities

Proactively coordinate and handle broking around the renewal cycle in accordance to NFP’s service model standards and timelines.
Demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills – capable of interacting with audiences of various seniority within client, carrier, wholesale and specialty organizations; effectively manage difficult scenarios and collaborate with Broking Team Leader on alternatives and solutions.
Complete client/prospect placements demonstrating an unmistakable command of the risk to be placed and a clear focus on driving the optimal outcome in both financial and non-financial terms.
Collaborate with team and client to ensure complete and timely submissions, respond to carrier queries, compile and analyze carrier quote proposals, and present clients with a clear summary of the marketing process and a proposal with recommendations.
Develop creative solutions to effectively address difficult placement scenarios; lead the process and drive outcomes to enhance customer satisfaction around key deliverables.
Lead team members in preparation of proposal presentations for existing and prospective clients.
Support team members in responding to client queries and concerns to resolve issues promptly.
Prepare detailed and complex coverage and policy comparisons, diagnostics, consolidated coverage/policy analyses, letters, and reports under the direction of the Broking Team Leader.
Develop strong, productive, trustful and resilient relationships with carrier and wholesale partners and their staff, NFP local office teams and NFP Producer teams nationwide.
Provide oversight and ensure the accuracy of client and policy information in NFP’s Epic agency management system.
Drive deployment of data and analytics to provide meaningful program insight for clients and the broking team.
Develop differentiated client services through a thoughtful and sound execution of the client stewardship process that enhances the quality of client relationships.
Lead by example in completing NFP’s broking strategies, including strategic carriers, panels, and preferred wholesaler utilization.
Build and maintain detailed knowledge of insurance marketplace, products and services.
