About The Position
This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in Leadership, Public Speaking & Persuasion, Grassroots Organizing, Voter Registration & Civic Engagement, Team Management, and Data Collection, all skills that carry over to careers in politics, nonprofits, and sales. Our team will talk with people in busy public areas across Raleigh and Charlotte, help them get registered, and learn what matters most to our communities. Requirements

- Treat teammates and community members from all backgrounds with respect
- Eligible to work in the US
- Upon hire, everyone will be required to present original, and unexpired documents from the Lists of Acceptable Documents to complete the I-9 form verification.
Nice To Haves
- Prior voter registration experience is strongly preferred but not required.
- Bilingual speakers are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities
- Approach people in busy public areas and talk with them in a friendly, respectful way
- Share a compelling message and help new voters complete accurate, valid registration forms
- Ask short survey questions and record responses using a mobile app (training provided)
- Take part in ongoing training to sharpen your outreach skills
- Strictly follow all voter registration laws and the campaign's safety protocols
- Stay on your feet outdoors for your full shift, in all kinds of weather
- Lead a small team of canvassers in the field, checking in throughout the day and debriefing at the end of each shift
- Make sure every canvasser has the materials they need to be safe and successful
- Help directors with training and administrative work
