About The Position

Educare of Omaha, Inc. recognizes that the use of community volunteers and students enriches the learning experiences for children and serves to enhance school-community relations. Educare seeks dedicated volunteers to carry out a variety of duties ranging from assisting in the classroom by observing and assisting teaching staff, working with health and nutrition staff, providing family services in the Family and Community Engagement Department or with administrative services department leaders.

Requirements

  • Complete volunteer application online
  • Complete a phone screen with Human Resources
  • Attend an interview with the appropriate leadership team
  • Complete onboarding process
  • Satisfy, clear, and obtain approval for all background checks from HR
  • Complete Orientation from Professional Development Team
  • Be 19 years of age or older
  • Have an ongoing volunteer schedule of at least 20 hours per month
  • Have direct contact with children
  • Not be a current Educare of Omaha, Inc., employee, current student, or parent (unless applying through an organization or internship opportunity)
  • Provide name, address, telephone number, email address and current or former place of employment (if any)
  • Provide names of at least three references unrelated to the Applicant with phone number and email address
  • Provide written authorization for criminal background check (including Nebraska State Patrol sex offender registry check and check of the Nebraska Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Registry)
  • Complete a health screen and physical from the approved vendor identified by Educare of Omaha, Inc.
  • Sign a confidentiality agreement
  • Complete a report of law enforcement contact that is updated annually or if a volunteer is arrested, issued a citation other than a minor traffic violation, or charged with or convicted of any felony, misdemeanor, or infraction, this must be reported to Human Resources
  • Former employees must reach out to the HR Department to verify eligibility before applying
