About The Position
Mecklenburg County Public Schools support and encourage the active participation of parents and members of the community in providing and extending educational opportunities for children. The involvement of volunteers who can serve as a resource to schools is a fundamentally important component of successful school programs. The administration of each school directs the activities of volunteers and other community resources at the building level.
Requirements
- Complete a Volunteer Application
- Be recommended by a building administrator
- Complete fingerprinting
- Complete a criminal record check
- Complete an abuse and neglect registry check through Mecklenburg County Public Schools
Responsibilities
- Provide students with individual assistance and attention.
- Support the educational process.
- Enrich student’s curriculum and broadening their awareness of and experiences with those who share different backgrounds, resources and talents.
- Help school personnel with instructional tasks and duties.
- Provide opportunities for school employees, parents, and community members to share knowledge, talents, and resources with our students.
