About The Position

This role collaborates to develop a program for recruiting and training volunteers, coordinates their assignments with the Interdisciplinary team, and supervises their work. All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. The coordinator keeps team members informed and actively participates in interdisciplinary conferences and meetings. They assign, oversee, and evaluate the work/care delivered by patient care and office volunteers, cultivate ongoing relationships with community volunteer organizations, and recruit volunteers. The role promotes accurate interpretation of others' needs, concerns, motivations, and feelings. They monitor and evaluate volunteer assignments and the effectiveness of volunteers in providing assigned services, ensuring documentation of volunteer services is recorded and tabulated correctly. The coordinator arranges orientation and continuing education for volunteers, including specific training based on patient needs prior to assignment. They participate in quality data reviews and make recommendations for improvement, and prepare reports of volunteer activities and hours of service. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license
  • An acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart
  • Proof of auto insurance

  • Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database, data entry)

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience working with volunteers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps team members informed and actively participates in interdisciplinary conferences and meetings.
