Requirements

• A heart for serving others and an appreciation for the hospice mission.
• Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and deep respect for individuals and their unique journeys.
• Welcomes and values people of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.
• Must be able to pass background check requirements.
• Certified and vaccinated pet (for Pet Therapy Volunteer role).

Responsibilities

• Support the care team behind the scenes by helping in offices with tasks like data entry, assembling packets, and sending cards.
• Organize special memories for patients.
• Sew memory bears or blankets.
• Visit patients to offer companionship and give caregivers a break, including activities like reading, hobbies, playing games, and listening.
• Share the love of a Certified Therapy Pet with patients.
• Use musical gifts to brighten patients' days and provide comfort to healthcare staff.
• Connect with fellow veterans, provide companionship, and participate in ceremonies for veteran patients.
