About The Position

Star Gospel Mission is seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator to help recruit, engage, and support volunteers who serve alongside our ministry. This position plays a key role in building relationships with churches, businesses, schools, and community groups while ensuring volunteers have a meaningful and rewarding experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in volunteer management, customer service, nonprofit operations, ministry leadership, event coordination, or a related field
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database software
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist with volunteer activities and event setup
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to travel occasionally between Mission facilities and events

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Recruit volunteers through churches, businesses, schools, and community organizations
  • Coordinate volunteer inquiries, orientations, onboarding, and training
  • Develop and maintain volunteer schedules
  • Support volunteer engagement, appreciation, and retention efforts
  • Build and maintain community partnerships
  • Coordinate volunteer participation for Mission events and service projects
  • Maintain volunteer records, databases, and participation reports
  • Assist with volunteer-related communications and storytelling efforts
