About The Position

Cityteam is seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator to oversee their volunteer program in Chester. This role is crucial as the coordinator will often be the first point of contact for volunteers, requiring enthusiasm and professionalism. The coordinator will manage all communication and follow-through to ensure a positive volunteer experience and foster advocacy for Cityteam. This involves partnering with Program Managers to create volunteer opportunities aligned with ministry needs. The ideal candidate must be well-organized, provide outstanding customer service, and interact effectively with staff, clients, and volunteers. They should be positive, capable of follow-through and delegation, and committed to relational wholeness, handling conflict with truth and grace. Comfort working with the homeless and diverse populations is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Computer literate
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Proficient and comfortable speaking to large groups of people
  • Professional written and spoken communication skills
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must be active in a local Christian body of believers or at least pursuing community with other Christ-followers
  • Must have compatible theology on major issues of CityTeam's Statement of Faith
  • Must be committed to serving God and the body of Christ

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Cityteam, addiction, and homelessness
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Volunteer Hub, or other volunteer management software
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience
  • Experience facilitating meetings, groups, or other functions
  • Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Program Managers to create volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups.
  • Work with the Corporate Volunteer Program Supervisor to accommodate volunteer needs.
  • Manage Volunteer Hub, capture volunteer data, and submit reports as requested.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, volunteers, and clients.
  • Interview, schedule, train, and supervise volunteers.
  • Oversee the confidential volunteer background check process, including paperwork, processing, tracking, and communication.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of volunteer hours by having volunteers sign in and out using the Volunteer Kiosks.
  • Represent Cityteam and promote volunteer opportunities at churches, companies, and other community organizations.
  • Advocate for Cityteam with those in your circles of influence.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other team building activities.
  • Assist team as needed.
