About The Position

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers. This role involves developing the volunteer program, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and fostering positive relationships with volunteers and the community. The coordinator will work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) and administration personnel, and will be responsible for timely submission of all documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Experience in recruitment & management of volunteers, preferred
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the IDG and the lay and professional public
Working knowledge of volunteer program resources
Demonstrates good communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills
Experience with EMR software
Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance

Responsibilities

Recruitment of new volunteers
Training new volunteers on hospice philosophy, regulations, and job duties
Provides volunteers per the Hospice patient's Plan of Care
Demonstrates knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, all local, state and federal laws relating to the recruitment, training & retention of volunteers
Develops the volunteer program through collaboration with the IDG and administration personnel
Establishes a public relations program to foster good working relations with the volunteers & the community
Timely submission of all documentation
Performance of other duties as required
Ensure overall compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures
