Volunteer Board Member
About The Position
Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton is seeking new volunteer board members with expertise in the Early Learning and Child Care Sector, Public Relations, or the Not for Profit Sector. The organization has been providing high-quality child care programs for over 35 years, operating full-day early learning and child care centers and before and after school programs across 27 locations in the Greater Hamilton Area. Umbrella Family is committed to high-quality, inclusive, and accessible programs that promote learning and growth. The Board aims to reflect the diversity of the Hamilton Community and encourages applications from marginalized and equity-seeking groups. Board members are expected to have knowledge of the Hamilton community and a demonstrated interest in the early learning and child care sector. They will also join one committee of the board, with meetings typically occurring 4-6 times per year. Directors serve without remuneration, but eligible expenses may be reimbursed. Requirements
- Experience working in the Early Learning and Child Care Sector
- Public Relations Experience
- Not for Profit Sector Experience
- Knowledge of the Hamilton community
- Demonstrated interest in the early learning and child care sector
