About The Position
The Newton Community School District (NCSD) is seeking a Volunteer Activity Sponsor for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is available at either Berg Middle School or Newton High School. The start date and availability are at the discretion of the NCSD Director of Activities and Athletics. Applicants will undergo a review process by the NCSD Director of Activities and Athletics, which includes interviews and a criminal history background check. Upon approval of the background check, the volunteer sponsor must provide a copy of their Driver License to Human Resources. A cover letter addressed to Laura Selover, Director of Human Resources, must be attached to the application.
Requirements
- Must apply with a Cover Letter addressed to Laura Selover, Director of Human Resources.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
- Must provide a copy of Driver License to Human Resources upon background check approval.
Responsibilities
- Review applicants and set up interviews for available positions.
- Conduct criminal history background checks.
- Approve volunteer sponsors upon successful background check.
- Ensure volunteer sponsors provide necessary documentation (Driver License) to Human Resources.
