About The Position

Carolina Preparatory Academy seeks enthusiastic, student-centered Volleyball Coaches to support our athletic program during the Fall 2026 season. Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, coaches will provide skill development, foster sportsmanship, and create a positive, inclusive team environment for student-athletes. Established in 1974, The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) & Carolina Preparatory Academy (Carolina Prep) is a vibrant and exceptional independent Montessori and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School school in the Triangle area serving 400+ students aged 15 months through 18 years. The school is committed to the intellectual, ethical, and personal development of our students. Our Montessori programs for Toddler - Upper Elementary students (15 months - grade 6) are located on our beautifully designed Lead Mine Campus, situated on 10 acres in North Raleigh, comprising five buildings in a child-centered, village-like setting surrounded by wetlands and protected forest. Our International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma programmes for Middle and High School students (grades 6 - 12) are housed on an expansive 40-acre wooded campus on our Brier Creek Campus in Durham. Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Previous experience coaching youth or high school volleyball required
  • Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and skill development
  • Commitment to student-centered coaching and positive character development
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Flexible team player with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse school community
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record for coaches responsible for team travel
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all student-athletes
  • Support the social, emotional, and athletic growth of students
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel
  • Maintain appropriate supervision and ensure student safety during practices and competitions
  • Model professionalism, integrity, and respect at all times
  • Attend scheduled practices, matches, and required athletic department meetings
  • Adhere to school policies and athletic program expectations
