About The Position

Catherine Cook School seeks a passionate and engaging Volleyball Coach. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe team environment where students can grow both athletically and personally. The ideal candidate is confident leading groups of student-athletics (Grades 5-8), experienced in coaching youth sports, and able to design engaging practices, develop game strategies, and model outstanding sportsmanship while supporting the mission and values of Catherine Cook School.

Requirements

  • Confident leading groups of student-athletes (Grades 5-8).
  • Experienced in coaching youth sports.
  • Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to working with student-athletes.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, patience, and consistency while supporting students, their families, and the athletic program.
  • Prioritize student safety and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with other coaches, supervisors, parents, referees, and school staff.
  • Adapt well to changing schedules, needs, and circumstances.
  • Employ Google and Outlook Applications for individual and team collaboration and communication.

  • Providing clear instruction, encouragement, and feedback while helping students develop athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Prioritizing student safety and well-being, including appropriate supervision and awareness of individual health needs such as asthma and allergies.
  • Communicating effectively and collaborating with other coaches, supervisors, parents, referees, and school staff to foster a positive community experience.
  • Adapting well to changing schedules, needs, and circumstances while maintaining a student-centered approach.
  • Supporting event organization by preparing spaces, setting up activities, and managing student attendance procedures.
  • Modeling and demonstrating athletic skills, techniques, and positive sportsmanship as appropriate.

Benefits

  • Compensation for this position is $3,000 for the two-month season, paid in two installments.
