About The Position

The Assistant Indoor Volleyball Coach/Assistant Recruiting Coordinator assists the Head Coach in organizing and managing all phases of a Division I Volleyball program, including recruiting, team/recruiting travel, and budget management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Division I volleyball coaching/recruiting experience.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches team at practices and competitive events.
  • Assists with oversight of the personal well-being of student-athletes.
  • Assists with oversight of successfully recruiting and retaining high-level student-athletes.
  • Assists with oversight of the academic progress and success of student-athletes.
  • Assists with oversight of communication and collaboration with the Strength and Conditioning Coach to design conditioning programs.
  • Collaborates with the Head Coach, athletic trainers, to design academic year (in-season and out-of-season) and summer conditioning programs.
  • Assist with budgeting, reconciling expenses, and proposing purchases for the sports program.
  • Responsible for assisting in all phases of a Division I intercollegiate volleyball program, which includes scheduling, recruiting, travel coordination, budgets, and fundraising.
  • Must be committed to the academic goals of the university and follow the rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA and the Mountain West Conference.
  • The candidate must demonstrate awareness and experience understanding the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, abilities, cultural background, ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation – through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
