About The Position

We are seeking a Voice Technician to join our team supporting DISA JSP ETM in Arlington, VA. This role involves configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and fixing issues of data network and telephony systems, including ISDN, VoIP, VoSIP, and Teleconferencing Devices, in conformity with DoD processes and standards. The position requires strong customer service skills in a high visibility environment, knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, and expertise with MAC and IP addresses. Responsibilities also include monitoring voice network infrastructure performance, resolving incidents, assisting in the design and implementation of voice network solutions, and collaborating with network architects and engineers on enhancements and upgrades. The role also involves configuring and managing voice protocols like SIP, H.323, and MGCP, and implementing Quality of Service (QoS) policies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related Voice Technician experience
  • 3+ years of related IT/telecommunications experience working within the DOD environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
  • One or more active network certifications OR related Telephony Certifications from Avaya, Nortel, AT&T, etc.
  • Must possess a Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and fix issues of the data network and telephony systems (ISDN, VoIP, VoSIP, Teleconferencing Devices etc.), and associated technologies in conformity with DoD processes and standards.
  • Possess customer service and support skills in a high visibility environment.
  • Knowledge of the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/IP protocol suite and must be well-versed with the MAC and IP addresses.
  • Problem analysis and problem solving.
  • Provide attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Monitor the performance and health of voice network infrastructure, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve voice network-related incidents, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of voice network solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with network architects and engineers to develop and implement voice network enhancements and upgrades.
  • Configure and manage voice protocols such as SIP, H.323, and MGCP, ensuring compatibility and interoperability with existing systems.
  • Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize voice traffic and ensure high-quality voice communication.
