This position supports the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The role involves participating in the design and deployment of enterprise solution architecture, coordinating installations and migrations, and troubleshooting LAN and WAN hardware systems. The technician will meet with IT managers to determine VoIP network needs, analyze existing VoIP networks and computer systems, and develop architecture for future voice/data services. Responsibilities include installing and incorporating network hardware such as IP/PABX communication servers, designing and implementing unified communications capabilities, troubleshooting VoIP network issues, and analyzing/upgrading network security systems and protocols. The role also involves adding network users, managing permissions and accesses, optimizing installations for future expansion, and training staff on network/system protocols. Additionally, the technician will install, remove, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair non-secure voice and/or non-voice communications systems, including intercom, public address, and alarm systems, as well as electronic and electromechanical telephone key systems/PABXs and terminal/communications equipment. This includes running cables and configuring equipment for telephone sets and non-voice circuits, as well as configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring system operating software/hardware. The position also requires performing all functions to support the Land Mobile Radio program on site.
