About The Position

Athena Technology Group (ATG) is seeking a motivated, career-oriented, and customer-focused Voice and Video Engineer to support enterprise communications operations in Doral, Florida. The selected candidate will design, implement, maintain, and optimize secure voice and video communication solutions supporting mission-critical operations. This role requires expertise in VoIP technologies, video conferencing systems, unified communications platforms, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, develop communication strategies, support operational requirements, and ensure highly available and secure communications services within a Department of Defense environment.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional IT experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct Voice and Video Engineering experience.
  • Expertise configuring and troubleshooting voice and video communication systems, including IP telephony, conferencing endpoints, gateways, and call control systems.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Quality of Service (QoS), routing, switching, and security protocols.
  • In-depth knowledge of VoIP, SIP, H.323, WebRTC, unified communications platforms, and video conferencing technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise VoIP systems and collaboration platforms.
  • DoD 8570 IASAE certification or equivalent qualifying certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration certification.
  • Avaya Certified Expert (ACE) certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Teams Administrator Associate certification.

  • Knowledge of AI-enabled collaboration and video analytics technologies.
  • Experience with network automation and orchestration technologies.
  • Experience supporting a DoD Combatant Command or Component Command environment, including SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, or SPACECOM.
  • Working knowledge of Land Mobile Radio (LMR), SATCOM, structured cabling, site surveys, Inside Plant (ISP), Outside Plant (OSP), and point-to-point communications systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex voice and video communication solutions supporting organizational communications requirements.
  • Engineer scalable, reliable, and secure voice and video architectures that meet operational and business needs.
  • Develop architectural diagrams, engineering designs, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain voice and video systems, including IP phones, conferencing endpoints, gateways, and call control platforms.
  • Support unified communications technologies and collaboration solutions across enterprise environments.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for future voice and video modernization initiatives.
  • Lead implementation and deployment efforts for new voice and video communication systems.
  • Collaborate with network, systems, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of communications platforms.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze utilization metrics, and implement performance optimization strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex voice, video, and unified communications issues.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with DoD and organizational security requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for service interruptions and provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support personnel.
  • Take direction from the DoDIN Operations Lead and support mission requirements as assigned.
