About The Position

The Variable Overhead Supervisor (VOH) is responsible for department safety and leading daily production efforts to their area of responsibility by implementing improvements and supporting manning requirements to fulfill production needs. VOH’s will work closely with the process improvement team and production management to increase productivity and strive to insure we are producing first quality products. Level is subject to applicant experience. The shift for this position is the 3rd Shift (Midnight-8am).

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Leadership skills- including running safety pre-shift talks
  • Previous textile manufacturing experience
  • Communication skills – verbal, written, and group department presentations
  • Safety Subcommittee leadership

Responsibilities

  • Uphold plant safety policies and compliance regulations, including completing safety audits, participating in safety projects, identifying site hazards, and contributing to improvements.
  • Promote safety as a core behavior and lead by example, encouraging production associate participation in safety processes and continuously seeking to improve housekeeping.
  • Conduct safety training and ensure associates have adequate training to safely perform their jobs, enforcing safety rules.
  • Communicate safety concerns to plant management and help address safety concerns within Limestone.
  • Assist in the management of the Process Reliability system, including downtime tracking and reduction.
  • Address processing and quality concerns, working with shop resources, technicians, Process Engineers, and other managers.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy and SAP transactions, including training operators on SAP and participating in physical inventory counts and reconciliation.
  • Assist with review and improvement of Production related procedures.
  • Assist the Production Manager with scheduling and staffing to ensure adherence to schedules and attendance policy, including covering vacations, absenteeism, and turnover, as well as managing overtime and budgetary needs.
  • Complete all payroll functions and personnel documentation needs for the assigned shift and department.
  • Input work orders and ensure maintenance follow-up on key items.
  • Update layouts and sets to ensure fair requirements.
  • Assist with new associate development and process training plan for Production new hires, ensuring OJT’s are properly aligned with trainees and their needs.
  • Communicate regularly with Production new hires to assist with process skills and their adjustment to plant culture.
  • Identify morale issues and work with the appropriate individuals to develop action plans.
  • Review and understand all Production disciplinary actions and ensure consistent application of HR policies.
  • Implement and maintain quality systems established by the Quality Manual and other quality procedures while working with the process improvement team.
  • Ensure shift quality performance by ensuring procedures are followed, associates are adequately trained, and associate suggestions receive appropriate responses.
  • Review and make improvement suggestions for relevant procedures.
