About The Position

The Vocational Training Instructor prepares daily living and work activities and performs other duties to support a smooth work-training environment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position provides daily supervision, training, instruction, and assistance in living skills, pre-vocational skills, and work training. It also involves maintaining required documentation and qualifications, managing equipment and supplies, estimating time and materials, and transporting consumers as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Valid Mississippi driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation showing that duties are completed in accordance with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
• Maintain the training, continuing education, qualifications, and certifications required by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health Operational Standards.
• Provide daily supervision, training, instruction, and assistance to consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living skills, pre-vocational skills, and work training.
• Inspect, inventory, and maintain equipment and supplies used in assigned areas.
• Estimate the time and materials required for the assigned work area.
• Transport consumers to and from the center, home, and planned activities as needed.
• Perform routine paperwork and documentation as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
