About The Position

Omega Health Services is a CARF-accredited provider of Vocational Rehabilitation, dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Veterans achieve independence through meaningful employment. We are seeking an energetic and independent Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist (VRS) to join our Charles Town team. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between consumers and local employers, focusing on direct support and advocacy within the community.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s Degree + 1 year of relevant work experience OR High School Diploma / GED + 2 years of relevant work/life experience.
• 3+ years of experience in General Education or Tutoring is highly preferred.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with a diverse staff and clientele.
• Diplomacy: High-level communication skills for public speaking and resolving employer workplace issues with professionalism.
• Organization: Proven ability for precise documentation, meeting deadlines, and handling multiple projects independently.
• Digital Literacy: High comfort level utilizing Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Asana.
• A valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proper insurance coverage.
• Ability to pass a standard drug screen and comprehensive background check (Federal, State, and County).
• First Aid/CPR certification (required upon employment; training provided).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or History & Arts is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Direct Job Coaching: Provide hands-on support to individuals during new hire screenings, workplace orientations, and daily job tasks to ensure long-term retention.
• Fiercely Advocate: Identify, suggest, and implement assistive technologies or reasonable workplace accommodations to help consumers thrive.
• Cultivate Natural Supports: Build positive social bridges between consumers, coworkers, and corporate supervisors to foster independent workplace integration.
• Maintain Operational Precision: Log daily digital service updates via Google Workspace and Asana, accurately tracking critical employment milestones (pay rates, benefits, etc.).
• Manage Field Logistics: Utilize a personal or agency vehicle to provide safe community and employment-related transport for active participants.
