This position is for a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor 1/2/3 located in Anchorage, Alaska. The role involves evaluating client eligibility for vocational rehabilitation services, approving individualized employment plans, and authorizing case closures. Counselors provide guidance to clients with disabilities to help them identify career goals, overcome barriers, and achieve meaningful employment. This includes interpreting assessments to determine client strengths, abilities, and rehabilitation needs, and developing/implementing effective service strategies. The position also involves approving and monitoring services such as assistive technology, medical or psychological evaluations, and training or placement supports in accordance with federal regulations. Collaboration with schools, employers, and community partners is essential to coordinate services, promote program awareness, and support successful employment outcomes for clients with disabilities. The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation's mission is to assist individuals with disabilities in preparing for, obtaining, retaining, and advancing in competitive integrated employment.
