About The Position

The Vocational Rehabilitation Assistant will collaborate with the vocational rehabilitation team to facilitate and support service delivery. This position offers an opportunity to positively impact the lives of our clients by aiding unemployed individuals in receiving services to reintegrate into the workforce. Moreover, you will play a vital role in preforming essential administration functions and light touch service delivery with clients, ensuring seamless daily operations and compliance with Lifemark's contractual commitments. Responsibilities include maintaining effective communication with referral resources, clients, team members, employers, community resources, and the public. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in administration and coordination skills. Requirements

  • Proficient in using a variety computer programs and systems - Intermediate to advanced skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Familiarity using social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter
  • Possessing exceptional clerical and administrative abilities, with the capacity to effectively multi-task, organize, and efficiently handle a dynamic workload.
  • Outstanding teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • An excellent understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity
  • Security background check required

Nice To Haves

  • University Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences or related field including Community Rehabilitation, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Social Work, Education, etc. (preferred)
  • Career and employment counselling, job development/placement and marketing, case management, facilitation experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating employment workshops
  • Develop general and targeted resumes and cover letters
  • Conduct labour market research to identify employment trends, occupational demands, and workforce opportunities.
  • Deliver mock interviews and job coaching sessions
  • Prepare reports, input and maintain data, and track and generate reporting metrics in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct intake and screening functions; reviewing, collecting and verifying information
  • Delivery of workshops for job search related topics
  • Timely report writing, in accordance with current templates, guides, standards and processes
  • Coordination and communication of services and appointments with clients, referral sources, external resources, and Lifemark team members
  • Intake and booking for various vocational rehabilitation and employment services, including scheduling clients, conducting follow-up, and completing regular client check-ins.
  • Keep accurate and timely records using internal and external systems and paper and electronic files; all in accordance with current templates, guides, standards and processes
  • Administration duties including material preparation, ordering, workshop supply coordinating
  • Ensuring effective and ongoing communication with identified stakeholders, including participants, professionals, referral sources, and amongst a strong interdisciplinary team
