Vocational Nursing Instructor- Per Diem Evening Weekend Opportunities
About The Position
We are looking for a Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team on a Per Diem basis. Weekend availability is highly preferred for weekend clinicals from 6 am to 7 pm on Saturday or Sunday. This role involves making continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies/techniques in teaching. The instructor will demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning. Responsibilities include assisting with reviewing and revising the syllabus for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines, submitting required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner, and keeping current with new technologies and safety regulations. The instructor will maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meets set due dates and deadlines. They will also assist with updating and maintaining student files as they relate to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements. Courses will be taught at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs, including both lecture content and clinical rotations (which can be days, evenings, weekdays, and/or weekends). Participation in professional development is expected, including maintaining CE hours for renewed licensure and staying current with college updates. Active participation in committees as assigned, based on availability and considering teaching responsibilities as a priority, is also part of the role. Experience demonstrating current knowledge of nursing practice, ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, ability to work independently without close supervision, broad understanding of nursing sciences, successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab, proficient and strong communication skills (verbal and written), and current knowledge/experience in a clinical setting are essential.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
- 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSN OR 6 years bedside experience with LVN/Associates Degree

- Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification or ACLS
- Current knowledge of nursing practice
