About The Position
Provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients and performs nursing procedures within the scope of the nurse’s education and demonstrated abilities. This ambulatory float-pool role covers clinics throughout the ambulatory network and may require occasional travel to locations in Orange, Katy, and Conroe. The work schedule is on-site, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with additional work as needed on occasion. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Requirements
- Graduate from a Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
- Hold a Texas vocational nurse license or permit.
- Current BLS certification.
- No experience required.

- Two years of outpatient or acute care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Use the nursing plan of care in daily assignments; review it and, under supervision, modify it.
- Observe and record patients’ signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status; present proposed revisions to interventions and desired outcomes.
- Deliver designated nursing interventions consistent with the medical plan of care.
- Notify appropriate nursing and medical staff of changes in patient status; recognize care priorities, multidisciplinary treatment plans, and potential patient-care crises.
- Follow physician orders in delivering nursing care and execute written orders for assigned patients.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records.
- Safely and properly administer medications and treatments.
- Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area; perform or assist with procedures and treatments.
- Follow infection-control and isolation procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Document nursing care in assigned patient records.
- Adhere to department internal controls.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Float to cover ambulatory network clinics and travel to locations including Orange, Katy, and Conroe on occasion.
