About The Position

The Vocational Habilitation Program Manager is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the Vocational Habilitation program, including supervising Direct Support Professionals and all participants while ensuring production goals are met. All participants present a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities, requiring Individual Service Plans, constant supervision, and frequent communication with the participant’s caregivers and Service and Support Administrators (SSAs).

Requirements

  • Non-smoker preferred.
  • Experience working directly with individuals in the rehabilitative or developmental disabilities field.
  • Independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background screen/fingerprint check.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and timekeeping/payroll software.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Annual certifications required in First Aid and CPR and Provider Certification training from the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Services, Special Education or related field preferred.
  • 5 years experience working with adults with disabilities or other rehabilitation services.
  • 3 years experience in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Vocational Habilitation programs for participants, including assistance in developing and monitoring Individual Service Plans (ISP) & Paths to Employment.
  • Participate in case reviews and serve as liaison between program providers, direct care staff and other support providers.
  • Provide documentation on program participants to ensure regulatory compliance standards, including CARF standards and reporting, and Developmental Disabilities reports for local, state and federal agencies.
  • Offer frequent training for participants to improve job and life skills.
  • Monitor and adjust the work environment to ensure individual participant needs are met and that rights and dignity are safeguarded.
  • Recommend strategies to improve services, training and opportunities for employment and/or to eliminate barriers for participants.
  • Establish and maintain productive and cordial relationships with state and local rehabilitative and developmental disabilities agencies to ensure quality service delivery for participants.
  • Represent Goodwill in the social services community; attend meetings with rehabilitation and residential service providers and required training; serve as an advocate for people with disabilities in the four-county service area.
  • Pursue professional career development through continuing education and training opportunities; maintain professional certifications and licensures for DD program compliance.
  • Promote positive teamwork among co-workers.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and supervised work environment for all employees at all times.
  • Responsible for other duties as may be assigned.
