About The Position

The Program Director of Willow Tree Day Habilitation Services will oversee the day habilitation services at this site for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our day habilitation programs are designed for transition-aged adults and others who benefit from personalized, small-group approach emphasizing community integration and active engagement in meaningful activities. JRI’s Developing Abilities programs provide comprehensive support for individuals with developmental disabilities, offering services that promote independence, skill development, and community integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human service or related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Two years of experience in human service management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to lead people and projects.
  • First Aid, CPR certification and certification in non-violent crisis intervention and prevention techniques.
  • Ability to work independently without a supervisor or other colleagues present.
  • Maintains valid driver’s license and ability to drive consumers in agency vehicles and own a vehicle if necessary.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in human services or related field can be substituted for two years of management experience preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with multiple entities to optimize operating programs and ensure regulatory compliance, MassHealth, and CARF preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a JRI Developing Abilities day habilitation program site.
  • Oversee implementation of services according to assessed service need, staffing rations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adequate staffing resources, support, and backup are available to meet the service goals of each client.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise, and evaluate staff of day habilitation services, including the use of contracted services and temporary staff.
  • Implement day habilitation operational, safety, and risk management systems.
  • Organize resources and monitor ongoing activities to ensure appropriate delivery of services and quality care in safe environments, supported clinical, administrative, and technical resources.
  • Implement trauma-informed, strength-based positive behavior support practices in alignment with program guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Provide after-hours on-call coverage for services.
  • Ensure best practices through systems that promote data-informed efforts and continuous quality improvement in services, including DDS, CARF, and MassHealth licensing, certification, and accreditation systems.
  • Develop an annual comprehensive statement outlining your program's goals and objectives, ensuring integration with the current JRI strategic plan while addressing specific program and client needs.
  • Engage in JRI Developing Abilities Management team, Risk Management, Safety and Human Rights activities.
  • Manage program budgets, expenditure plans, fiscal controls, and billing systems to ensure effective service levels and resource provision within regulatory or contractual requirements and service allocations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
