This role involves providing direct support to individuals with mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities, focusing on promoting independence and life-changing care. The Vocational Direct Support Professional (DSP) will assess individual needs, dreams, and desires, and provide supports to facilitate their achievement. This position plays a crucial role in protecting and promoting the rights of individuals, assisting them in developing advocacy skills, and serving as a resource for community agencies and supports. The DSP will also supervise, educate, and monitor individuals in various settings, including community, vocational workshops, and day supports, while ensuring a safe working environment. A key aspect of the role is facilitating positive relationships and promoting self-determination through person-centered approaches. The position requires implementing individual plans, accurate documentation, and collaboration with new and current staff.
