About The Position

The Vocational Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day operations of a vocational training program and facilitates the implementation of individual employment plans at community job sites. The role works directly with assigned individuals to implement Individual Plans of Employment and educational goals. Assigned individuals may be located in Prince George’s, Charles, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, and Howard Counties.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience providing proficiency in the areas of responsibility.
Current driver’s license in good standing, vehicle registration, and auto insurance.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with others.
Reliable, responsible, and caring nature.
Commitment to the company’s mission and values.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working with youth or young adults in a child welfare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Work directly with assigned individuals to implement Individual Plans of Employment and educational goals.
Complete assessments and paperwork required by state and local government regulations.
Market to and recruit companies for contract-supported employment and volunteer opportunities.
Market to and recruit colleges and universities for educational opportunities.
Transport individuals to work sites and assist them in transferring out of a van or automobile.
Encourage and facilitate a normalized work environment through coaching, mentoring, and training.
Report and document injuries and other occurrences when necessary, and maintain a safe environment.
Attend scheduled in-service training.
Provide daily oversight of Direct Support Professionals.
Contribute to training other departmental employees as needed.
