About The Position

This seasonal role performs as a vocalist and dancer in stage shows, meet-and-greets, and special events at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The performer presents multiple shows each day, sings while moving and performing flights in a harness, and maintains assigned character integrity. Applicants must apply online and attend an in-person audition at the specified time and location, preparing two contrasting pop selections and bringing a headshot and resume. The audition also includes learning a dance combination. The position requires strong vocal and dance abilities, comfort performing in a flight harness, and the ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperatures. Work schedules and locations vary according to park and business needs and may include opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and after-hours rehearsals. The role also involves backstage duties, safety procedures, guest interaction, and physical activity throughout the work shift.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated strong vocal and dance skills, including the ability to perform vocal selections from different musical genres.
Strong movement and dance skills; ability to retain choreography and blocking.
Ability to sing while in a harness and engaged in a stage flight.
Ability to sight-read sheet music.
Personable, animated, fun, and outgoing personality; strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to accept performance feedback and critiques and adapt accordingly.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes while performing choreography, vocal selections, and staging.
Ability to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours, including opening and closing shifts and after-hours rehearsals.
Ability to positively interact with guests and coworkers of all ages and backgrounds, including people with special needs.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for prolonged periods and to kneel, squat, bend, reach overhead, grasp, and perform fine hand manipulation tasks.
Ability to climb or ascend heights if needed.
Ability to participate in an in-person audition at a predetermined time.
Additional performance requirements may include script memorization, role playing, comedic improvisation, and miming.

Responsibilities

Perform 4–5 shows per day as a vocalist who moves well and retains dance choreography and blocking.
Sing while wearing a flight harness and performing multiple flights per show.
Represent the park enthusiastically with a positive attitude, high energy, and commitment to quality guest service.
Perform in stage shows, meet-and-greets, and special events as assigned.
Accept performance feedback and critique and adapt accordingly.
Complete pre-show and post-show backstage duties according to the daily schedule.
Follow safety and procedural directions for the position.
Execute stage direction and show content as directed by leadership.
Interact positively with guests, employees, and others.
Maintain assigned character integrity.
Perform cleaning duties, including using cleaning chemicals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
