About The Position

School of Rock Waldwick is seeking a Vocal Teacher who embodies "rock and roll" and is dedicated to creating a valuable student experience that helps our students learn music and performance skills. This is an opportunity for a working musician to work alongside an amazing staff of professional artists. We are looking for a dedicated vocal coach who is excited to grow with our vibrant music community and make a long-term home here at our fun, high-energy school. At School of Rock Waldwick, we believe music has the power to change lives, and we have seen firsthand how students build confidence and discover their identity through performance.

Requirements

3+ years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
Strong grasp of music theory and curriculum design.
Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and able to handle a busy environment.
Must live in Northern NJ for a reliable commute to Waldwick.
Candidates must be able to commit to working at least 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

Maximize the quality of private lessons and shows.
Ensure students learn the fundamentals of music (theory, technique, health), not just songs.
Create and document thoughtful lesson plans tailored to each student’s journey.
Act as a brand ambassador by communicating regularly with parents on student progress.
Be a visible, accessible, and positive presence in the school.
Pitch in during rehearsals, and help execute the overall program while adhering to our safety and supervision policies.
