About The Position

This role involves IT support for technical issues related to Microsoft's core business applications and virtual environments built on Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware. The engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Exchange, and File Server. A key aspect of the role is utilizing VMware technologies to design and maintain the virtualization infrastructure following best practices. Experience with setting up iSCSI/Fiber SAN, replications, and new VMware infrastructure setup is crucial. The position also requires experience in setting up LAN/WAN networks, including VLANs, switch stacking, and redundant firewalls. The engineer will engineer and implement system solutions for customers, implement and support disaster recovery solutions, and provide technical services at the network level, including WAN/LAN connectivity, routers, switches, firewalls, and security. Remote access solution implementation and support (VPN, Terminal Services, Citrix) are also part of the responsibilities. The role includes supporting VMWare, EMC, Data Domain, etc., and staying updated with new technologies through research, seminars, and professional development. Maintaining confidentiality and performing other duties as required are also essential. The work environment is generally an office setting with moderate noise, but may occasionally involve a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and moderate noise. Extended hours, irregular shifts, tight time constraints, and multiple demands are common. Travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus five (5) years’ work experience in Virtual Environment with a strong background in Networking.
  • A VCP certificate required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must meet all knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • No felony, theft or stealing convictions.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
  • Knowledge and experience with VMware , vCenter and VMware 5.5 & up
  • Knowledge and progressive experience with Windows 2003/2008/2012, Active Directory domain and Exchange preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience administering MS Windows systems required.
  • Knowledge and industry certifications (MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Vmware VCP, CompTIA, CISSP, LPI, Cisco, etc)
  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of all Server Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of types of Network Equipment.
  • Knowledge of design of WAN/LAN.
  • Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Skill in planning, organizing and coordinating information technologies and prioritizing work activities in accordance with established goals and objectives.
  • Project management skills.
  • Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.
  • Skill in budget preparation and administration.
  • Skill in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing operational, technical and financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as required.
