About The Position

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities for physical facilities and equipment and or systems for the animal facilities in accordance with the regulations applicable to our industry (National Electric Code, AbbVie Engineering Standards, GLP, OSHA, Etc.), operational manuals, specifications, and drawings, maintaining a high degree of reliability in a safe and efficient manner. Provide technical support in the areas of animal facility specific equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trades work, maintenance or related area.
  • Must be able to quality to drive box truck and other AbbVie vehicles (FMCSA qualifications)

Responsibilities

  • Comply with AbbVie’s Policies, with the regulations and requirements of the animal facilities including FDA auditable facilities.
  • Perform and document daily preventative and corrective maintenance issues.
  • Dismantle equipment, remove, and replace defective parts. Make changes in equipment, facilities, laboratories.
  • Manufacture or modify parts of machines and equipment utilizing internal and external resources as necessary.
  • Read, interpret, and use drawings, equipment and schematic manuals as reference when performing work. Observe the indicators of control parameters in panels and devices in operation. Identify problems and cause and make corrections/repairs if necessary.
  • Select and maintain inventory of spare parts for equipment, etc.
  • Provide technical advice or train colleagues in the operation, trouble shooting, maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain tools, work area, and other equipment in good working conditions complying with safety regulations.
  • Basic animal awareness and handling/husbandry training to support basic functions to maneuver animals, housing racks, transport of animals to other locations, etc.
  • Perform dock support in animal facilities including receipt of animals and supplies/materials
  • Assist and provide support to other functional maintenance areas if necessary.
  • Handle receipt of items for investment recovery. Including Maximo status, assessing defects and next step towards displacement from AbbVie.
  • Gain knowledge of Rheaply program, posting delivery or shipping as needed.
  • Generates asset listing working with 3rd party provider to list for sale and then handle load outs and maintain copies of activities related to closing out of each sale/transaction.
