About The Position

Washington County Public Health Division within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is recruiting for a Limited Duration Senior Administrative Specialist to join the Vital Records team within the Environmental Health Branch. This position is a limited duration with a tentative end date of 6/30/2027. The Vital Records Senior Administrative Specialist will be the lead expert for certified records of births and deaths that occur in Washington County after the original record has been registered and filed to the state. This position must become a Deputy Registrar within 30 days of the employment to be able to access state birth and death records. They will also provide direct supervision over assigned administrative support staff and provide back-up coverage for the Environmental Health Senior Administrative Specialist, who is the lead expert for licenses related to restaurants, food carts and other food service facilities, swimming pools and spas in addition to the lead expert for septic system permits and provides direct supervision over assigned administrative support staff. In-person. Due to the nature of duties, this position is not eligible for remote work.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support.
  • Must become a Deputy Registrar within 30 days of employment.
  • Criminal background check post offer.

  • Possession of bilingual skills is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
