About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups with over 60 years of experience in providing services to the nuclear industry globally. They are the stewards of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology. This role involves developing storyboards, creating real-time 3D visualizations for design and other applications, and using animation, illustration, drawing, and design skills to convey ideas. The position also includes creating Building Information Management (BIM) models and other artifacts for digital twins in nuclear applications, designing and developing 3D visualizations of nuclear systems and components within a multidisciplinary team, and presenting work to influence buy-in and decision-making. Additional responsibilities include visualizing operation sequences, assets, infrastructure, live data, and apps; automating and programming to integrate live equipment data into visualizations; optimizing project files in Unreal Engine or equivalent environments; preparing documentation and user manuals; and developing Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Interactive Media Development, Game Development, Interaction Design or similar program.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing 3D animations, visualizations and game development using gaming platforms such as Unreal Engine.
  • Experience in developing industrial applications.

  • Nuclear technology applications experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop storyboards to outline the work and vision that needs to be accomplished.
  • Create real time 3D visualizations for design applications as well as internal and external use.
  • Using animation, illustration, drawing and design skills create visuals that convey ideas representing the vision of the wok.
  • Create Building Information Management (BIM) models and other artefacts towards the development of digital twins for nuclear applications.
  • Using expertise in the development area, work in a multidisciplinary team to design and develop 3D visualization of nuclear systems and components.
  • Present work in highly impactful manner both internally and externally to influence buy-in and decision making.
  • Visualization of operation sequences, assets and infrastructure, live data, and apps.
  • Automation and programming to integrate live equipment data into visualizations.
  • Optimization of project files in Unreal Engine or equivalent environment.
  • Preparation of documentation and user manuals for the systems developed.
  • Development of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality applications.
