About The Position

To provide a systematic visual inspection to cast parts. This role involves reading and applying the Quality Engineering Specification (QES) to the visual inspection of a casting, using a scan pattern for the inspection. Indications are evaluated, and a decision is made to accept or reject the casting based on the acceptance of the QES. The inspector will operate an air-powered tool to remove defects and/or rework castings, and grit blast parts in an enclosed grit blast cabinet as necessary. A "Toy Soldier" inspection of parts is also required to help identify any differences in groups of parts per the QES.

Requirements

  • High school education.
  • Nine months OJT training.
  • Normal initiative and ingenuity.
  • Normal effort required.
  • Responsible for self.

  • Ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • May train Inspector I’s as required.
