About The Position

The Plant 1 PLT 100% Visual Inspector will be responsible for inspecting tires from the curing presses, verifying each tire is free of basic anomalies, making small repairs or corrections to tires, and directing the tires to the correct palletizing conveyor. The PLT Final Finish Inspector will follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to promptly and accurately obtain quality and quantity production, follow plant Safety policies, Plant policies, Environmental policies, and keep work areas neat, clean, and orderly. The employee will log into the system, then pass tires (both acceptable and irregular) into their next process, maintaining an even flow of production. They will notify the supervisor immediately when a major breakdown occurs. The role also requires understanding the operation and performing minor resets associated with the white sidewall protective paint application process. The inspector must perform assigned jobs in a safe manner, keeping the work area clean and orderly, and cooperate and communicate with supervisors by reporting all pertinent information and problems. Other duties may be directed by the Supervisor and/or Department Manager. Minor rework of sidewall dust or unpainted tires may also be required. The inspector must ensure all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored. This description may not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Follow standard practices to promptly and accurately obtain quality and quantity production.

  • Keep work areas neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Log into the system and pass tires (both acceptable and irregular) into their next process, maintaining an even flow of production.
