About The Position

This role involves visually inspecting surfaces (cases and lids) using prescribed procedures and a working knowledge of the product. The Inspector will report scrap and finished goods quantities to the Production Lead or Supervisor, utilize microscopes for defect verification to ensure compliance with visual requirements, and perform rework operations as needed. The position requires awareness of customer-specific quality criteria for accurate part inspection, problem-solving according to written procedures, and providing support to operations floor teams regarding product acceptability. Additionally, the Inspector will assist in training new inspectors, ensure discrepant material is properly dispositioned before shipment, and follow packaging instructions. The role also includes monitoring material flow and completing KANBAN tags and scrap reports, along with performing other required functions.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years experience in inspection.
  • Ability to use microscope.
  • Knowledge of computer terminal operation required.
  • Required to undergo 40 hours of training and pass certification exam.
  • Mechanical ability and good hand-eye coordination required.

Responsibilities

  • Solves routine problems according to written procedures. Evaluates and selects solution from established options.
  • Provides support for operation floor teams in product acceptability.
  • Assists in the training of new inspectors.
  • Ensures discrepant material has been properly dispositional prior to shipment.
  • Follows packaging instructions and packs products as directed.
  • Monitors material flow and completes KANBAN tags and scrap reports.
  • Performs other functions as required.
