About The Position

Acuren is seeking a qualified Visual Inspector III with certifications in API 510, 570, and 653 to support operations in Longview, TX. This role is ideal for local candidates in or around Longview, TX. The Visual Inspector independently conducts visual examinations, evaluates materials, welds, and components for conformity with codes, standards, and client specifications. Responsibilities include interpreting procedures, recording results, and reporting findings. Level II inspectors are expected to identify discontinuities, determine acceptability, and assist in training Level I personnel, demonstrating a strong understanding of inspection techniques, documentation, and quality assurance.

Requirements

Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/570
5 – 10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site experience
Additional API 653 required
In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards
Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers

Responsibilities

Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) at the direction of the client.
Submit technically accurate reports to the client documenting equipment condition.
Provide technical recommendations to the client for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment for safe operation within specified parameters.
Provide technical input to the client regarding welding and metallurgical issues.
Provide technical guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
Comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in site safety initiatives.
Willingness to travel if needed.
