About The Position

The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Visual Arts Specialist. This is a full-time, temporary position with benefits. The position serves at the discretion of the department director and is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday, with occasional work on Mondays during install. The Chandler Museum is a cultural destination with engaging, community-focused programs and forums, as well as world-class traveling exhibits. The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department showcases destination drivers in Chandler through the Chandler Center for the Arts, Chandler Museum, Downtown, Public Art, Special Events, Connection and Impact, and Vision Gallery.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in customer service in a gallery or non-profit retail arts setting
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
• Fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
• Awareness of the City of Chandler’s policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol. The use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the city’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.
