About The Position
The Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a Visiting Scholar to work in the research program directed by Dr. George K. Gittes. This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working research scholar who is a highly self-motivated individual.
Requirements
- M.D./PhD degree.
- Strong background in bench research and experimental design.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Interest in working with individuals from many different backgrounds, including clinicians and basic scientists.
- Effective command of the English Language.
- Evidence of effective writing and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Solid understanding of statistical methods.
Responsibilities
- Participate in both basic science and clinical research experiments.
- Assist with non-human primate surgery and postop care.
- Learn basic science investigational techniques including but not limited to western blotting, cell culture, RNA isolation and animal experiments.
