About The Position
Hanover College has an occasional need for part-time visiting faculty to teach courses in various subject areas. Visiting faculty are required to possess at least a master's degree in their subject area. Key responsibilities include delivering course instruction (including labs), evaluating student assignments, and conducting regular office hours. The appointment is contingent upon departmental requirements and student enrollment numbers.
Requirements
- Hold at least a master's level degree in the subject area
- Provide a brief cover letter
- Provide resume or curriculum vitae
- Provide a brief statement of teaching experience and interest
- Provide the names and contact information for three references
Responsibilities
- Teaching courses (and labs)
- Grading student work
- Holding weekly office hours
Benefits
- Compensation is $6,000 per 14-week course
- Additional compensation for courses with laboratory requirements
- An additional stipend is available for individuals commuting over 40 miles
