About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at Niagara University invites applications for a one-semester visiting instructor position for the Fall 2026 semester. The official start date of this position is August 26, 2026, and classes begin on August 31, 2026. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field is preferred, but candidates with a master's degree will also be considered. Responsibilities include teaching three undergraduate classes. Most classes are expected to be lower-level services courses, but, depending on the successful candidate's qualifications, there may be an opportunity to teach an upper-level course for majors. The successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in the department. Authorization to work in the United States is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; the only exception is a TN visa (for citizens of Canada or Mexico). The Department of Mathematics, part of the College of Arts and Sciences, offers majors in mathematics and actuarial science and minors in mathematics, statistics, and actuarial science. Students in mathematics education programs take many of our upper-level courses, and we teach students from across the university in our service courses. In recent years, a number of our students have completed honors theses, conducted research with faculty, participated in REUs or internships, and/or presented at conferences.
